Legal Assistant by day, Yoga Teacher by night

Hello! I am Charlene Squires, newly certified 200-hour yoga teacher. My preferred styles are Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, and I am currently working through continuing education with specialties in Children's Yoga and Pre-Natal Yoga.

I first started practicing yoga about 5 years ago, after the birth of my son. I needed a way to reconnect with myself, others, and to refocus the anxious energy that came with post-partum (as well as my generalized anxiety disorder). I fell in love with yoga, not just for the physical benefits, but also for the emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits.

In January 2021, I decided to expand my practice, with the goal of personal growth, as well as the idea that I could then share my love of yoga with others, by starting my 200-hour yoga teacher training course work. I completed my program from Yoga Renew Teacher Training in January 2022, am registered with Yoga Alliance, and am fully insured through BeYogi.

Non-yoga related, I am a mother, wife, and full-time legal assistant. My husband is military, so we have lived a few places, but are currently located in Wetumpka, Alabama. Our son, Theo, is 5 years old. He is the namesake for Wild Ginger Yoga!

Theo is, as you can see, a ginger, and he is....wild. He wakes up in the morning at 100% and then stays there until bedtime. He is outgoing, confident, and friendly. The "stranger danger" talk has been a struggle with him. But, he is kind and caring. He loves all animals, likes to do yoga with me, and workout with his dad and I when we do weight training and go for runs.

He is my daily reminder to be a better person, both for him, and for myself. His current goals are to become a chef, meteorologist, and/or construction worker...I can't wait to see what good he does in the world.

I, along with my yoga practice, and endeavor into teaching, are all a work in progress. I hope to continue to grow, in all areas, and I hope you will grow with me!

-Charlene
